SMS Program

Last updated: July 27, 2026

RaveJob sends one SMS review request per completed job, on behalf of the home-service business that performed the work. This page documents exactly how consent is collected, what is sent, and how to opt out. It exists so the program can be reviewed publicly without a login.

How consent is collected

Consent is verbal, collected in person or by phone by the business at the time of service, before any message is sent. There is no web form opt-in. The business asks the customer, out loud, this exact script:

“Can we send you one text message — a request to review the job we just did? It’s the only message you’ll get. Reply STOP anytime to opt out; message and data rates may apply. Our terms and privacy policy are at ravejob.com/terms and ravejob.com/privacy.”

The customer must answer yes. Only then is their phone number entered. If the customer declines, no number is entered and no message is ever sent.

This script is displayed inside the RaveJob app at the exact point where the phone number is entered, so the operator has it in front of them every time. The on-screen text reads:

“Entering a phone number? First ask them, out loud: [script above] Only add their number if they say yes. Texts only go out if you’ve turned on text message consent.”

Texting is off by default

SMS is disabled by default on every business account. A business must deliberately enable it in Settings, which requires confirming a dated attestation:

“By turning it on you confirm that every phone number you enter was given to you by that customer for contact about their job, that you asked whether you could text them a review request, and that they said yes.”

While that setting is off, the SMS step is skipped entirely and only email is sent.

What is sent

Opting out and help

Reply STOP to any message to opt out; you will receive a confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP or INFO for assistance, or email hello@ravejob.com. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

The QR code is not an SMS opt-in

Some businesses display an on-site QR code that opens a page where a customer can rate a completed job. If the rating is low, that page offers an optional field to leave a phone number so the business can call back and put things right. That is a callback request, not a messaging opt-in — numbers left there are never entered into the SMS program and never receive an automated text.

Your information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile opt-in data is used solely to deliver the messages the customer agreed to receive.
